The other day, I picked up an interesting conversation with one of India’s best social media guru on a news post that went viral and shattered the brandwealth of a brand that almost every homosapien in our country had tasted & developed trust over years . I was curious to know from him as to what went so dramatically wrong that the trust developed over decades got shattered in milli seconds ? He smiled and replied , ” Brands cant be built over night, but can be destroyed over a single tweet”. And yes, he is proven right, Nestle India’s 2 Minute Noodle Brand – Maggi, lost its’ two decades of trust in less than 2 minutes. Needless to mention the several thousands of Crore rupees it lost and will lose to regain it’s market.
